The Face of Diabetes Awareness
Despite the magnitude of his athletic feats, Hall’s most influential moments occur in the community. Over the years, Hall has partnered with several sponsors, including Becton Dickinson, Eli Lilly and LifeScan, serving as an advocate for proper diabetes management.

Passionate about advancements towards a cure, Hall testified on Congressional panels regarding stem cell research, diabetes awareness and funding to find a cure. He acts as a spokesman for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and sits on the Board of Directors for the Diabetes Research Institute. Hall founded the Gary Hall, Jr. Foundation for Diabetes with the goal of reaching out to people managing diabetes and raising awareness, funding and providing critically needed supplies and resources to those who need it most.

In April 2008, Hall served as a patient advocate at the New York Stem Cell Foundation Panel at the TimesCenter. Being featured with top professionals from the diabetes community, Hall continues to make an impact through his dedication to finding a cure.

He has appeared on Diabetes Life, The Today Show, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, among other media outlets. Additionally, Gary Hall was featured on the Barbasol can as part of the Real Man campaign, in an effort to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The Race Club
In 2002, Hall founded The Race Club, an international swimming club based in the Florida Keys in 2003. The mission of the Race Club is to raise awareness and popularity of competitive swimming across the nation. It is also a resource for financial support, exposure, and a platform by which elite swimmers can enhance their careers.
